Swarovski partnered with Epic Games to create a collection of trophies celebrating their biggest esports competitions.

Swarovski first created a crystallized trophy for the winning team of the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) Invitational 2022. Swarovki’s first esports trophy took creativity and innovation into a bold new arena. The finished piece was designed using Unreal Engine – the real-time 3D creation tool used to develop Fortnite – and crafted using multiple innovations, including laser plotting, fine grinding, and polishing to ensure a flawless result. Inspired by the distinctive FNCS logo, the trophy’s shield-shaped base is set with bespoke crystals featuring an iridescent color-changing effect that transitions from purple to blue. The video game tournament attracted players from around the world, each competing in pairs to win a share of the $1m prize pool and the right to lift the glorious winners’ trophy, with Kami & Setty taking the honor.

Swarovski and Epic Games continued their partnership with the 2023 FNCS Global Championship. This version of the trophy had a larger base, the arms were longer, and the trophy was gold and silver instead of silver and purple. With increased dimensions, the weight had also increased. The new trophy weighed just over nine kilograms, compared to around seven kilograms for the original. The trophy was displayed at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen ahead of the event so visitors could check it out in person. In addition, the trophy was featured in the Fortnite Item Shop for players to download and display during their matches.

The collab continued with Epic Games’ other major esports title, the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS), known as the most prestigious Rocket League tournament in the world. Swarovski wanted to make it crystal clear the victorious players that took home the championship with an impressive trophy with their names engraved on the base. Each of the players on the winning team also received matching medals featuring Swarovski crystals, cut from the same aquamarine crystals featured on the trophy. Additionally, each Major MVP category winner (Overall MVP, Offensive MVP, and Defensive MVP) received Swarovski medals for their performances.
