Starting in Spring 2021, and only at Walmart, fans could experience the delicious taste of a Moa Burger through Pringles’ exclusive partnership with Halo. The new Moa Burger flavor brought to life food from the Halo universe with an interstellar twist on the much-enjoyed, sometimes-ridden, and often misunderstood Moa bird.
Physically, Moas resemble ostriches, and several flocks of the creatures live around the planet Reach. Humans treat them as pets and cuisine, much like we see with some real-world livestock. There’s a special advertisement in Halo: Reach players can watch as well as a Moa-specific reward to earn within the game’s “Winter Contingency” mission. It requires Spartans to kill seven of them, awarding the “Keep It Clean” achievement.
The Pringles Wavy Moa Burger crisps boasted a thick wavy texture that delivered a bold crunch and featured a blend of flavors including garlic, sweet ginger, and savory beef. Each chip finished with a crave-able slight heat from chili and red peppers that will take tastebuds on a journey to new star systems.
The limited timed product surprised fans around the world and led to significant pickup in food, gaming, and entertainment circles, including a segment on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The on-going partnership between Pringles and Xbox will continue later into 2021 with the launch of Halo Infinite.
